Behavioral Systems Southwest is looking for a full time, flexible Behavioral Health Clinician to work in the Tucson area. You will be working in a safe, clean, pleasant office environment with our already established team of medical and administrative professionals.
Since 1971, Behavioral Systems Southwest (BSS) has been dedicated to helping the offender population break the criminal cycle and improve the quality of their lives. We accomplish this goal by providing comprehensive reintegration, transitional drug alcohol and mental health services.
This position is part of our Tucson Outpatient Mental Health Clinic providing substance abuse and mental health services to the federal offender population.
Must be able to diagnose using DSM – V.
Conduct and document individual initial intake and assessments.
Develop individualized treatment plans with the patient and the program physician.
Plan, organize and conduct individual and group sessions.
Conduct individual and family treatment sessions, as appropriate, as part of patient treatment plans.
Document case notes, progress notes and monthly reports on each patient with templates provided by contracting agencies.
Assist patients in identifying and pursuing effective treatment goals. Identify the types and amounts of support patients require to remain independent.
Maintain all records, treatment statistics and other documentation according to contract requirements and state law.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patient, assigned doctors or health care professionals and supervising agencies including US Probation, US Pretrial Services.
The proper candidate will have excellent time management skills, written skills and ability to use transcription software.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education: Minimum Credentials/Education/Experience:
MA or BA Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related human service field; or high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and 18 hours of college credit toward a degree in a field related to behavioral health. The credits cannot be more than four years old before the date the individual begins providing behavioral health services; or has two year documented full time behavioral health work experience under the direction of a medical doctor working directly with patients; or four years documented full time behavioral work experience at a medical psychiatric facility working directly with patients.
