CLERK ACCOUNTS PAYABLE – Shreveport, LA 71101

Position Description:
Performs day to day processing of accounts payable transactions in connection with the operation. Maintain a high level of accuracy as it relates to entering information into the computer system. Ensure that all activities are being performed in accordance with departmental policies. Review reports to create check disbursements in accordance with departmental guidelines. Validate that payments are being made within the company guidelines. Deliver dependable customer service to both the vendors as well as Boyd employees. Provide additional support to the department as requested.

Job Functions

Compile and sort documents such as invoices and checks.

Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, verifying that all documentation is accurate and in accordance with all accounting policies and procedures.

Verify, calculate, and post incoming or historical data to obtain financial information.

Compose information into retrievable and/or specific form.

Recognize incomplete data and determine action to be taken.

Reconcile assigned accounts payable-related general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as needed.

Read, understand, and retain written regulations, policies, and procedures.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:
Job Specifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Five (5) years of experience in accounts payable required.

Detail-oriented.

Experience with various software applications, such as Excel, Word, Lawson, AP, etc.

Possess and maintain knowledge of, and accurately apply, generally accepted accounting principles and practices (GAAP).

Experience with standard office equipment and the ability to use a 10-key by touch.

Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
