About Our Job

This is an on-call position which will work between 24 and 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. This position is seasonal and will generally last from April to October and will include weekends.

Denver Parks & Recreation is seeking a Campground Attendant to work in an administrative and guest relations capacity at the Chief Hosa Campground (27661 Genesee Drive, Golden CO, 80401). This position will be responsible for proper intake and checkout of guests within the campground and will work closely with Denver Mountain Parks operations staff and Park Rangers to ensure that guests are aware of and adhere to all campground rules and policies.

Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Follow appropriate procedures and policies to check guests in and out of the campground

  • Review and verify completeness and accuracy of documents, forms, and other information; identify and correct errors as needed

  • Utilize a computer, databases and software to process and prepare files, reports, forms and to communicate via email

  • Use computer reservation system for scheduling and tracking campground reservations

  • Utilize customer service skills to greet visitors, answer, screen, and route telephone calls, take messages, and provide routine information to employees or the public

  • Prepare a variety of letters, memorandum, and reports using Microsoft Word

  • Process sales of campground permits

  • Receive, record, and disburse sums of money including petty cash

  • Prepare vouchers and invoices for accounts payable

  • Operate a variety of office equipment to maintain and manage the campground booth; maintain inventory records and order office supplies as needed

  • Open and distribute mail and deliver documents, correspondence, and other materials

  • Responsible for accurate and timely record-keeping; maintain files or record systems, update and purge files according to procedures, and categorize information for filing

  • Work closely with Park Ranger staff to ensure adherence to rules and management of campground; dispatch non-emergency vehicles

  • Perform minor maintenance and custodial duties

About You

We are looking for a passionate park and campground enthusiast who possesses strong customer service, organization skills, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be reliable, flexible and hard-working. Additionally, our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working as a campground host or campground attendant

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Experience with cashiering and/or Point of Sale (POS) systems

  • Experience processing and reviewing forms or applications for accuracy and completeness according to procedure

  • Experience updating and maintaining accurate records and reports

  • Experience ensuring high quality guest relations

  • Experience ensuring guest adherence to rules and policies

  • Experience: One (1) year of clerical experience
