We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to be responsible for treating children and adolescents in partnership with their family members/guardians, treatment team members, and direct care employees in an inpatient setting.

Child Psychiatrist Core Responsibilities:
  • Meeting with patients and evaluating their conditions, disorders, or disabilities.
  • Diagnosing mental and affective conditions.
  • Developing treatment plans, using therapies and counseling, and determining when psychiatric medication is necessary and appropriate.
  • Medication Management.
  • Assisting patients as they cope with difficult situations.
  • Educating family members or guardians on supporting patients.
  • Consulting for social services and court systems.
  • Continuing education activities.
  • Communicating with insurance companies as needed.

This position is to be responsible for the management and treatment of psychiatric patients where the treatment could include psychiatric evaluations, pharmacotherapy and medication management with follow up to maintain the stability of the patient that is treated.
The practitioner will use their acquired knowledge of the social, psychological, and biological factors to access how they impact a child's mental health. By performing an individual comprehensive exam, the practitioner will arrive at a diagnosis and develop the best treatment plan for their patient. The practitioner will work with other members on the treatment team and assess if psychotherapy sessions should be conducted in an individual, group, or family format. This could even extend to working with other physicians and professionals in this field from schools, agencies, outside community organizations, and juvenile courts, and/or prescribing the child medication.
