This is a 75% teaching and 25% variable appointment with research and service activities. Primary teaching responsibilities will be undergraduate and graduate Plant Science courses. Interdisciplinary courses could include Soil Science, or other related coursework. Ability to occasionally teach online with some traditional courses is to be expected. The selected applicant will be expected to publish regularly in peer-reviewed journals appropriate to the discipline of their research and to compete successfully for external funding to support a research program. The successful applicant will contribute to our growing undergraduate program and competitive team.
An earned Doctorate in Horticulture, Crop Science, Agronomy, Forestry, Plant Science, or a closely related field. ABD candidates may be considered.
Assistant Professor, Plants Sciences with emphasis in both Horticulture and Agronomy, nine-month, tenure-track position beginning Fall Semester, September 1, 2021.
Opportunity for summer teaching available. Ideally, the selected applicant should have a horticultural background. Evidence of actual or potential success in teaching, research, and service is also expected. Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language are required. Must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
