Assistant Manager – Springfield, MO

Summary of Position

Assists in management of Pet Store engaged in selling merchandise and livestock by performing the following duties and achieving the following goals:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning and preparing work schedules and assignments of employees to specific duties
  • Input on Associate reviews
  • Assists and supervises employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, records transactions, and performs work as needed
  • Orders merchandise and prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand
  • Monitor and verify vendor activity in store
  • Ensure all store employees are trained properly
  • Coordinates sales promotion activities and prepares or directs workers preparing merchandising displays
  • Maintain a customer service oriented operation
  • Perform all shift duties as required- work scheduled shifts and be on time
  • Able to perform daily duties of Store Manager in his/her absence
  • Assist in pricing adjustments if necessary
  • Perform all other duties as required
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers and employees
  • Background in pet, retail, or grocery store operations
  • Ability to train employees
  • Ability to manage employees
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. If you feel you need assistance, you can always ask another associate for help.
