This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (9 month). The Department of Counselor Education offers two master’s degrees, an M.A. in Counseling with two areas – Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling and an M.Ed. in School Counseling. The department also offers a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and an undergraduate minor in Human Services. This position will direct two training clinics for the department and will work very closely with department chair. This position will lead and coordinate strategic planning and curriculum development for the department; coordinate accreditation and program approval initiatives; teach a three course load in Fall and three course load in Spring. Provide service to the university, community, and profession; actively participate in student recruitment.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited doctoral program.
The candidate must have multiple years experience managing counselor education training clinics, working in agency settings, and considerable knowledge of telehealth policies. The candidate must have experience in the following; university teaching and serving in a leadership role in higher education. The candidate must have a strong record of scholarly productivity. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of CACREP accreditation.
The candidate must be a licensed professional counselor and or a licensed marriage and family therapist. If candidate is licensed in another state and offered the position, candidate must seek licensure in Texas. It is preferred that the candidate has experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
