Asset Performance Manager – Commercial Solar – Santa Clara, CA 95051

The Solar Asset Manager will monitor commercial scale solar projects across the United States to ensure optimal financial performance of the company’s solar portfolio. This individual will be responsible for the ongoing management of financial, O&M, and administrative tasks necessary to ensure optimal performance of individual commercial solar projects and the portfolio. The manager will generate performance and service reports, alert detection and diagnostics; supervise service dispatch, warranty claim management, production guarantee administration, response time guarantee supervision, and performance analysis. This individual will Monitor project planning, commissioning, and portal management. Work with vendors on programming issues, setting up site alerts, adjust parameters for more effective portfolio management. Track performance of systems vs guarantee performance baseline. Interpret data on product performance to create guidance for engineering to designing more effective projects.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure solar portfolio is performing at or above forecasted production
  • Drive improvements in financial and operational metrics and maximize value of operating solar assets
  • Create detailed, comprehensive Annual Reports on all solar projects
  • Review performance reports, investigate issues and initiatives to improve performance and prepare operating performance summary reports
  • Develop & manage project budgets, models, P&L, and contract amendments
  • Work closely with numerous departments, outside service providers, and partners
  • Review and analyze issues with current portfolio financial and compliance performance
  • Prepare investor reports, budgets for investors and lenders and resolve any issues or questions
  • Ensure project companies and affiliates are operating per equity and debt financing documents, maintain tracking model, calculate and pay distributions to investors, sponsors and debt service
  • Review and approve expenses incurred by investor funds and seek approvals as necessary

Competencies and Qualifications

  • High energy passionate leader that enjoys working in a startup environment
  • Experienced and preferably led the execution of scaling commercial solar development / EPC business by directly improving processes, capabilities, and value to customer while also recruiting talent, evaluating existing capabilities
  • Understand how solar projects get built: the engineering requirements and quality level to ensure we build the lowest cost, highest yielding solar systems; what our construction teams need to manage our partners efficiently to create long term mutually beneficial partnerships across our execution scope. Understands the needs of customers, able to communicate effectively, problem solve and ensure high-levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Have deep solar industry relationships across engineering, procurement and construction that you can immediately leverage to help our organization grow
  • Have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, you can influence, build rapport and get through to people at all levels of the organization
  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to self-direct and work independently—capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced but exhilarating environment, where many demands and requests will present themselves and you will need to prioritize

Education

  • College Degree
  • MBA or financial equivalent preferred

Work Experience

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software platforms
  • Successful candidates will have good mathematical skills and will be required to demonstrate competence with Excel
  • At minimum two years of Asset Management experience
  • Ability to deliver products on time and meet deadlines
  • Proven analytical capabilities – both qualitative and quantitative
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • High degree of attention to detail

Work Environment

  • Primarily West Coast Region of the United States. Job requires outside work and is a home-based position

Travel Requirements

  • Travel will be mainly vehicle trips to job sites from home on an almost daily basis.
  • On occasion overnight travel will be necessary
