DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This individual will perform administrative functions of the Accounts Payable Section following city-wide and department accounting procedures; reporting directly to the Accounting Section Division Manager. Responsible for maintaining precise records of all vendor payments made and owed. Must work collaboratively with other accounting professionals to perform audits of all transactions. Draft correspondence to internal and external customers of the city. Prepare periodic special reports; comply information and maintain department reference information. Perform Landfill Audits System Transactions, ensuring compliance of refuse disposal policies and procedures. Perform other duties as requested.


WORKING CONDITIONS

There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e. essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of administrative experience is required. Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
