Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, an international law firm with over 1,500 attorneys and 20 offices worldwide, seeks an Accounts Receivable Assistant in Los Angeles. The Accounts Receivable function strives to provide outstanding service to the Firm’s partners, clients and others within the Firm; therefore, the candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork and supporting Firm and department goals in a fast-paced environment.
The Accounts Receivable Assistant will report to the Billing Manager and will be an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team. The Accounts Receivable Assistant will be responsible for identifying, recording, and posting daily cash receipts. The daily responsibilities will include:
- Record and post incoming ACH, wire, check and lockbox transactions.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure correct application of client payments.
- Maintain comprehensive record of previous payments and upload cash receipt backup into imaging system.
- Research and resolve payment application discrepancies.
- Reconcile daily cash receipts to verify accurate log of transactions.
- Generate and distribute internal reports for financial analysis.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, have excellent attention to detail, and have the ability to work well under pressure. Position requires outstanding written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills. Applicant should possess data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy. Ideal candidate should be flexible and should be able to prioritize in the face of shifting deadlines.
This position will play an important role in the Firm’s year-end cash efforts. This position is overtime eligible and during October and December, the Accounts Receivable Assistant should expect to complete cash responsibilities on Saturdays (half days).
A college degree is preferred, but not necessary. No legal accounts receivable experience is required. Candidate must have strong technology skills, including MS Office Suite, and an ability to leverage technology in work processes.
