Accounting and Assurance Manager – Phoenix, AZ 85050

We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Accounting and Assurance Manager to join our Phoenix office. Our staff enjoys a challenging work environment that promotes professional development and offers the opportunity to work on a variety of complex client engagements.

  • Plans and supervises client engagements, managing staff and ensuring deadlines are met

  • Reviews workpaper files

  • Completes analytical review procedures including documentation of expectations, results and conclusions for a complex review

  • Reviews financial statements

  • Reviews and concludes on the validity of analytical review procedures performed by the staff

  • Manages and identifies issues and situations encountered that warrant management letter comments

  • Researches and concludes on complex accounting issues

  • Responsible for training, coaching, evaluating and mentoring staff

  • Contributes to the firm’s mission and acts as a technical resource for others

  • Provides value-added services by seeking out and developing meaningful business advisory comments

  • Participates in business development activities

  • Performs other accounting services and duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance or related field

  • Current CPA license

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in public accounting

  • Previous experience managing staff members

  • Experience must include managing multiple A & A engagements, working with clients, and successfully demonstrating technical knowledge of A & A standards

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to translate complex A & A issues into simple terms to enhance client understanding

  • Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines, coordinating others’ work and completing own work within tight deadlines

  • Proficient in using technology to accomplish tasks and manage engagements – e.g. Caseware, on-line A & A research tools or related software, Microsoft Office products, QuickBooks
